Hello! If we sign up for a dining/show package, and go to the breakfast, but then don't go to the show later, is there a penalty or charge? Thank you!

Hi there, Jamie! Welcome to planDisney!

If you decide to book a Walt Disney World Dining Package, attending the show afterwards is completely optional. However, I would strongly advise against this! Dining Packages are considerably more expensive than simply paying for your meal at the restaurant, so if you're unsure whether or not you'll be able to make it, try not to book the package in the first place.

Of course, I know that life can be pretty unpredictable sometimes, so if you find yourself in a position where you've already paid for a Dining Package but still can't attend the show, you don't have to worry about it. This happened to me once in December 2022, actually! I had booked a Candlelight Processional Dining Package for me and my entire family, but then I got a fever right after dinner. Obviously, I had to leave EPCOT and miss the show, so we decided to give the tickets to four lucky Guests who were standing in line waiting for it to begin.

Jamie, if you definitely can't make the show, I encourage you to do the same as I did. Find someone you'd like to give your tickets to, and watch as you make their day! You could look for someone who's wearing a celebration button, someone whose outfit you really like, or even someone who does something small but nice like opening the door for you.

I sincerely hope this helps, Jamie. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to come right back here so we can help you out again!

    Warm hugs,

    Ana Paula
