Hi there, Alex!
Ahoy and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Wahoo! You have a Disney Cruise Line vacation booked and if you are able to reserve onboard activities then it means your vacation is coming up soon! How exciting! Get ready for a fun-filled adventure that you won't soon forget!
You are headed to one of my favorite destinations ever….
Castaway Cay! I always look forward to a relaxing day on the beach at Disney’s Private Island! I love that you can just relax and enjoy the beach and crystal-blue water OR there are plenty of activities going on around you if you choose (my family loves the Whale Dig)! But I ALWAYS start out my day at Castaway Cay with the Castaway Cay 5K! It’s a great way to see the island, get a great workout in and feel like I have “earned” that extra-large chocolate chip cookie from Cookie’s BBQ at lunch! The Castaway Cay 5K is open to Guests ages 10 and older and registration is done
onboard at Guest Services! So, once you get onboard for your voyage, be sure to stop by Guest Services to secure your spot in the Castaway Cay 5K. Then, on the morning of the race, you will meet in a specified location onboard and head to the starting point as a group. At the completion of your run (or walk) you will receive your Finishers Medal (a great souvenir to take home with you) and you can either head back to the ship or find the perfect spot for your day on the beach!
I am glad to hEAR that you have the
Navigator app downloaded already! You will definitely need that once onboard as it will be your “go to” for schedules, menus, deck plans and much more! My favorite part of it is the chat feature to keep up with others onboard and at Castaway Cay.
Wishing you a magical adventure at sea and at MY favorite beach! Remember to hydrate before heading out for the Castaway Cay 5K because boy, oh boy is it HUMID in the Bahamas!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
