How to we sign up for the 5k on castaway cay?

Ahoy there, Beverly! Welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so excited that you and your crew will be making a stop at Disney Castaway Cay on your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation! It truly is a tropical paradise, and no matter what you spend your day doing, you're sure to have an incredible time!

Ah, a runner, I see! Whether you're going to be trying for a new PB or just can't wait to get some sand in your running shoes, the Castaway Cay 5k is such a fun experience! Did you know that part of the run takes you down the island's old airstrip and over near Serenity Bay? I always like to say the 5k is part run, part island tour, and part appetite generator, haha!

Currently, the Castaway Cay 5k is not being run as a group start race, but don't worry! Guests who wish to run the 5k can still do so on their own - no registration required! So whether you'd like to start your day off with an early morning race against the clock, or prefer to run in the hot July sun, you can do so at any time! The start line is located right near the cabanas at the family beach near the bike rental station, and the course stays marked all day! When you complete the race, be sure to check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for where you can pick up your finisher medal back on the ship!

Once you've done the run, it's time to have some fun, and Disney Castaway Cay has plenty of it in store! Actually, since the 5k can be run at any time, it's the perfect opportunity to book a Port Adventure like parasailing in the morning, then pop over to run the 5K while you've got your adrenaline pumping! Or, you could do the opposite and run your race first thing then reward yourself with the most incredible views of the ship, the island, and the horizon!

No matter which order you decide, be sure to make time for a bit of relaxation, too...after all this is your vacation!

Here's hoping that has you ready to lace-up your backup shoes (seriously, don't bring your best running shoes unless you'd like to bring home some sand as a souvenir...you make that mistake once, let me tell you...) and get off to the races, Beverly! Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any others as you continue to plan, please sail my way again here at planDisney!

On your mark, get set, GO!
