Is there a shuttle to get to the parks if I stay at either the Disney Hotel or Grand Hotel?

Hiya Susan, and welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you’re here!

It sounds like you’re choosing between The Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth. You can’t go wrong with either of these options – I’ve stayed at both, and they’re simply magical! I’m happy to report that you actually won’t need a shuttle or any form of transportation to get to the theme parks from either of these hotels, since they’re both within walking distance to the entrances of both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. In fact, here’s a helpful interactive map that shows just how close these hotels are to the action!

If you’re looking for the Disneyland Resort hotel that’s closest to both theme parks, I’d recommend Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, which offers an exclusive entrance directly into Disney California Adventure Park! You can literally wake up, get dressed, and walk inside the special entrance into Disney California Adventure Park within minutes! Plus, Disneyland Park is just a short walk from there, and can be accessed through Disney California Adventure Park, or through a short walk through Downtown Disney District. To give you an idea of distance, you can walk from Disneyland Park to Disney California Adventure Park in less than two minutes -- they're across The Esplanade from each other!

The Disneyland Hotel is also a great option in terms of location. It can be found at the end of Downtown Disney District, just about a 5-to-10 minute walk to the entrances of both theme parks. From the Disneyland Hotel, you can also access the Disneyland Monorail, which is just a short walk away. If you have a valid park ticket and reservation for Disneyland Park, you can board the Monorail at the Downtown Disney District station, and it will take you to the heart of Disneyland Park in a jiffy!

It sounds like you have a tough choice ahead of you, Susan, but either way, you’re going to experience a magical getaway, that’s for sure! Please don’t hesitate to send any additional questions about these hotels my way, I’d be happy to help you figure out which one is best for you!

    Wishing you pixie-dusted planning, Susan!
