Ciarra, Disney Cruise Line offers
ground transportation between select airports and partner hotels near most cruise terminals. However, direct transportation between rental car facilities near the port and the cruise terminal is not currently available through Disney. My family has rented cars both pre- and post-cruise when sailing out of
Port Canaveral and found shuttles available from the rental car company when we've needed to travel between their facility and the terminal. To review available options, I'd suggest contacting your specific rental car company for more details.
As you finalize your vacation plans, here are a few quick reminders to help ensure a smooth embarkation so you can get to the fun of your vacation quickly and easily.
- Be sure to review both the packing list suggestions and the list of prohibited and restricted items before leaving for vacation for some important information about what you need to pack. . .and what should be left at home. Don't forget to keep required travel documents, necessary medications, and anything you'll need for the first few hours on the ship in a carry-on, as your checked luggage will be delivered to your stateroom later in the afternoon.
- Download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App before your vacation, if you haven't done so already. Once you reach the ship, you'll be able to view full activity schedules, dining details, and much more. While you will need to purchase an Internet package to browse and use other apps, the Navigator app is accessible via complimentary Wi-Fi service on board.
- My favorite way to start a cruise is with a relaxing sit-down lunch. Typically, you'll find one of the main dining rooms is open during embarkation. Ready to head to the pool deck instead? You should also find lunch service available at the buffet for a quicker option.
