IS there a shuttle from Fort Wilderness to the parks? If so, do I have to reserve it ahead of time? Does it cost anything?

Howdy Elizabeth and welcome to planDisney!

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is my favorite place to stay at Walt Disney World!  I just love the tranquility of the campground, but knowing I'm still so close to the magic.  A tradition for my family is to watch the Electrical Water Pageant in the evening from the marina.  We are always making new memories under the stars.

Complimentary transportation is included when staying at any Walt Disney World Resort hotel and that includes Fort Wilderness.  A water taxi will take you right over to Magic Kingdom Park and a Disney bus will take you to EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Disney Springs.  To catch the boat, take the internal bus to the Settlement Depot and then walk over to the marina.  To catch the bus to the parks, take the internal bus to the Outpost Depot at the front of the campground.  You do not need to reserve transportation ahead of time.

I highly recommend renting a golf cart, if you haven't already.  They are so useful when getting around the campground since access to cars is very limited.  You'll be able to park closer to all of the Resort amenities and activities and not have to wait on the internal bus to get around.  Plus, they're a lot of fun!  We love going for rides after dark to see all of the decorated campsites with beautiful lights and fun inflatables.  A golf cart is an absolute must-do for my family when we visit.

There are so many fun activities offered at Fort Wilderness and Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long is our favorite.  We always have a great time singing songs, roasting marshmallows by the campfire and taking pictures with my son's favorite troublemakers.  You can bring your own marshmallows or purchase a s'mores kit at the Chuckwagon Snack Bar.  I definitely recommend saving an evening during your vacation to fully experience what Fort Wilderness has to offer.

Please stop back by if you have any additional vacation planning questions.

    Have a magical day!
