Where did all of the shows go? HUGE bummer, we have multiple kids and need places to get out of the sun/rain to rest. Last visit, Hyperion closed, and also fantasyland theatre? Is anything going to open soon? Thnx

Hello there Daria!  Thank you for bringing your important question to planDisney.

I know the feeling on either a very hot or rainy day where you just need to escape the weather during the day!  Even if it's beautiful weather out, it is so nice to be able to take a break, rest your feet, and recharge.

I do have some exciting news about the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland Park!  When Pixar Fest begins throughout the entire Disneyland Resort on April 26, a new Pixar Pals Playtime Party will take place!  Guests will have the opportunity to have a dance party with their favorite Pixar pals, there will be a creative coloring and reading area, as well as special photo opportunities.  Pixar pals such as Woody, Jessie, Dug, and Russell will make appearances as well!

If you're over at Disney California Adventure Park, there are a few great options such as the Disney Junior Dance Party! in Hollywood Land, it's a great place for kids to get their wiggles out during the high-energy show.

Another great option is Turtle Talk with Crush where you'll get to interact with Crush from Finding Nemo for a totally tubular time!  It's a great break for parents and kids, and my daughter got to ask Crush a question last time we went to the show, she absolutely loved it!  It's located in the Disney Animation Building in Hollywood Land, which is another one of my favorite places to escape for a break.  Sometimes we grab a snack and head inside the Disney Animation Building to enjoy the lobby for a bit.  There are huge video screens surrounding the lobby, and you'll get to see sketches of your favorite movies come to life set to their soundtrack!  I seriously could sit there for hours!

My final suggestion is to head to the lobby of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, it's close to both theme parks as well as the Downtown Disney District.  There is an area with kid-sized chairs where they can watch some Disney cartoons and relax, and adults can enjoy in the beautiful lobby and listen to the live pianist!  It has felt great in the warmer months to enjoy some air conditioning, and to warm up and get out of the cold during the winter months.

I hope these suggestions are helpful for your next trip, Daria!  If we can help with any other questions, please do not hesitate to come back and ask, you've got a friend in me!

    Have a magical day!
