I love staying at Port Orleans! It has a very relaxed, tucked-away feel with all the beautiful greenery and winding paths throughout the resort. I love to take an evening walk to see the theming and architecture of the lodging rooms! It makes me feel like I really am strolling in the Louisiana bayou.

Disney Springs might be calling your name! One of the things my family loves most about Port Orleans is how easy it is to get to Disney Springs. The dining options are incredible, the shopping is so much fun, and there is always something new to discover. I remember when my son found the perfect pair of shoes at
Sperry, and he wore them until they were completely worn out! And
Gideon’s Bakehouse… oh my goodness! I finally tried it on a recent visit, and I am still dreaming about those cookies!
My favorite way to get to Disney Springs from Port Orleans is by hopping aboard the
Sassagoula River Cruise. There is something peaceful about gliding along the water, and it makes the trip feel like part of the adventure! You will arrive right at the Marketplace dock, just steps away from shopping and dining. The boats do run consistently, but if you just missed one pulling away from the dock, or there are a lot of friends waiting for the same ride, there may be a bit of a wait. You will want to ensure you give yourself 20-30 minutes before any dining reservations to ensure you arrive on time. If you are looking for something quick and easy, you can also take a Disney bus, which will bring you to the main Disney Springs area.
Renee, your September visit will be here before you know it! That is such a fun time to visit. I remember how warm it can be during those days, so be sure to stay hydrated! You can grab complimentary ice water at any quick service location or refill your
water bottle at stations throughout the parks. And you are in for a real treat with the
Halloween decorations! The parks look incredible, and you will find some truly spooktacular merchandise over at Disney Springs!
