I was on shopDisney and saw a new Mickey themed wagon. My understanding was these are not allowed in the parks. Is that still true?

    Hello, Jennifer!

Welcome to planDisney! Getting little Mouseketeers with tired legs around the parks can be hard, I've definitely been there. Let's talk details of what magical carriages are Disneyland Resort-approved.

I think I see the super cute Mickey Mouse wagon on shopDisney.com that you're referring to. While it's totally darling for other adventures, being on the shopDisney site does not mean the wagon is allowed in the theme parks. I'm sorry! The Disneyland Resort Rules specifically prohibit all wagons, including stroller wagons.

There was a phase of life when I was visiting Disneyland Park with two kiddos in strollers, so I know how you feel! You're welcome to rent strollers at the parks, but we usually brought our own since we liked to have them at the airport and going to and from our hotel. There are a few safety rules for strollers that you should check to make sure your stroller will be allowed into the parks. Size is a big consideration; strollers cannot be larger than 31" x 52" to enter the parks.

A few tips and tricks about strollers that I learned over the years:

    • Choose lightweight strollers with a pretty good recline feature for naps.
    • Bring a very lightweight blanket and a few clothespins to extend a sunshade or help minimize distractions when it's time to nap.
    • Wrap bright string or tape around the handles so you can spot your stroller in a crowd. A Mickey balloon works well for this, too!
    • Park your stroller in designated areas and don't be surprised if a Cast Member needs to relocate it to manage traffic flow and space.
    • Put the sunshade up or cover the seat with a blanket when you park it so it isn't too hot when you come back.
    • I preferred having two single strollers over a double stroller. Double strollers are hard in a crowd!
Jennifer, I'm sorry that the Mickey wagon won't be able to join you at the parks, but I hope this information helps you find an option that keeps everyone in your family in a magical mood. Don't forget to take a moment to visit Mickey's Toontown, it's freshly reimagined and full of chances for curious kids to stretch their legs, make some magic, and meet a favorite friend. Enjoy the parks!

    Keep moving forward!
