    Do you have to be on ship wifi to use Disney chat app?

    Hi John, 

    Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking us a great question about the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App!

    That app has truly been a game changer for my family. While the Disney Cruise Line ships used to have “wave phones” that would allow Guests to communicate with each other and Guest Services, you can now use the app to check the day’s activities, communicate with certain Guest services (including the Disney Oceaneer Club and Disney Oceaneer Lab) and even other Guests. 

    I’m happy to say that, while you do have to join the ship’s wifi to be able to chat with other Guests, you don’t have to purchase a wifi package to do so. Texting and using the app to plan your day onboard is completely complimentary. 

    So don’t forget to download the app before you leave for your cruise! You can even use it to book certain onboard activities and even Port Adventures while you’re waiting for that countdown to tell you that it’s Cruise Day.
