When the ship docks at Nassau and Cast Away Cove, the itinerary says 8:30am to 4:45pm. Does that mean if we want to get off the cruise ship we have to leave at 8:30 and stay off until 4:45pm or can you come and go from the cruise ship as you please.

    Ahoy, Kenneth!
You're headed to my favorite spot in all the world - Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. A tropical paradise with a Disney flair - what could be better?

When the ship docks, most cruisers are eager to head off the ship and start enjoying the island. You're not required to leave the ship at a certain time, in fact, you don't have to disembark at all if you so choose. That being said, I encourage you to explore the beautiful beaches and amenities of Castaway Cay! You can come and go as you please, though most guests will get off the ship early and stay until late afternoon.

You won't need to re-board the ship for lunch - a delicious barbeque buffet is provided free of charge on the island! Cookie's BBQ and Cookie's Too will be grilling up chicken, ribs and more from 11:30am until 2pm. Soda machines are available, as well as an all-you-care-to-enjoy soft-serve ice cream machine, so make sure to save room for dessert!

There are plenty of fun Port Adventures available at Castaway Cay - you can check them out here. Our favorite thing to do is rent bikes for a ride around the island. It's a nice way to check out the scenery, and also to burn off some calories from all the incredible food on a Disney Cruise! Most often, we reserve the Castaway Cay Getaway Package, a 3-in-1 rental package that includes snorkel equipment, floats, and bicycle rentals - perfect to make the most of our time on the island.
