Ahoy Amy!
Welcome back to planDisney, and thanks for asking about one of my favorite topics in the world: FOOD! Disney Cruise Line has so many exceptional dining experiences onboard. I’ve never been asked before about my favorite “can’t miss” food items, specifically on the
Disney Fantasy. This is gonna be fun! So let’s dive in, shall we?
As Remy says, “If you are what you eat, then I only want to eat the good stuff.” And believe me, there’s plenty of good stuff to be consumed on a Disney cruise. Here’s just a short list of my favorite dining experiences/dishes:
-Remy for an exceptional dining experience worth the splurge.
Did you know that Chef Arnaud, the chef that curated Remy’s menu was
recently named one of the top 10 chefs in the world? Even the food critic from
Ratatouille would be impressed! The entire experience from start (with the specialty Colette champagne cocktail prepared table-side) to finish (dessert and chocolates) is pure food bliss. Worth every bit of the extra cost for this French-influenced feast.
-
Sweet on You for gelato and scrumptious ice cream sundaes.
This ice cream shop combines two things I love: sweet treats and Mickey Mouse cartoon images. Try the Signature Sundae...with 3 scoops of ice cream and 5 toppings, it’s made for sharing! But I'm going to choose one of the featured gelatos-they remind me of being in Italy!
-Royal Court for the Chateaubriand-Roasted Filet Steak and the Grand Marnier Soufflé.
You’ll thank me later for suggesting this combination of entree and dessert that will tantalize your taste buds. Truly the highlights of Royal Court’s expansive menu offerings.
-Palo brunch.
Palo is always on my Disney cruise wish list, but I have a soft spot for the Palo brunch,
available on sailings 4 nights or longer and always on at sea days. Palo brunch stands out because it boasts both a buffet AND a la carte menu choices. Try the parmesan-crusted chicken breast with risotto, it's delicious! Don't believe me...well, you know the rest!
-Room Service.
Shocker, I included that
24-Hour Room Service on the list. Since we often do Second Seating for rotational dining, I like to order Room Service to tide us over until dinner. My go to dishes include the “All Hands on Deck” cheese plate and Buffalo Chicken Wings. They may not be listed on the menu, but you CAN order Mickey premium ice cream bars!
As far as
Castaway Cay, Cookies BBQ and Cookies Too BBQ have some of the best grilled dishes like BBQ ribs. Oh, and I love getting a Konk Kooler beverage and also making my own giant chocolate chip cookie sandwich from 2 massive cookies with self-serve ice cream!
With all that talk of food, I’m in a food coma now and need a nap! Amy, come back to planDisney if you'd like more morsels of planning tips.
Bon Appétit!
