How do I sharks magic mobile pass with my wife if we share same Apple ID? It says I can’t send to myself.

Hiya, Jeanenne! I'm so glad you flipped your fins our way and landed here at planDisney!

Disney MagicMobile service is one of my favorite features to use when visiting Walt Disney World Resort. This digital pass functions similarly to a MagicBand, allowing you to enter theme parks and Lightning Lane entrances, charge to your Disney Resort hotel during your trip, and more!

However, when adding your Disney MagicMobile pass to your digital wallet, it will be difficult to share with someone who has the same Apple ID as yourself. I have a few steps that can help you troubleshoot this so both you and your wife can take advantage of this feature!

First, I would recommend that both you and your wife download the My Disney Experience app, using your individual login information. Once downloaded, tap the icon that looks like three stacked lines in the bottom right corner and tap Disney MagicMobile. Here, create your pass style and then tap the plus sign in the upper right corner to add to your digital wallet.

If your wife doesn't have her own My Disney Experience account (perhaps you made the plans for both you and your wife), you will want to first share these plans with her. I prefer to do this through the website on my computer. Log into your account, hover your mouse over the My Disney Experience tab, and click My Family & Friends. If you've made plans for her, you should see her name with "Plans managed by me" next to it. If this is the case, click "Update" next to her name, then "Share Planning with..." Once she accepts this invitation on her end, she will be able to view and co-manage plans with you. She will also be able to log into her own My Disney Experience account, both online and through the app.

If you've tried the above steps but your shared Apple ID still won't allow you to each have your own Disney MagicMobile passes in your digital wallets, my next best piece of advice would be to call a Cast Member at (407) 939-4357. They will be happy to take a peek at your accounts and walk you through any next steps that may be available to you!

Jeanenne, as you put the final sprinkle of pixie dust on your magical vacation, be sure that you've also made your Theme Park Reservations using the Disney Park Pass system! This is an important step that you need to take in order to reserve the parks you wish to visit. And if you're looking to stay immersed in the magic while you wait for your trip to arrive, take a peek at the Disney Parks Blog and tune into the planDisney Podcast!
