Hello Alma, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
There are food allergies and intolerances in our family, and we can't help but be vigilant about ingredients and food preparation when dining out. Disney takes extreme caution when it comes to Guests' safety, and this is particularly true with dining. Started in April 2015, both Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resorts in Florida introduced allergy-friendly menus at 120 quick-service and table-service locations. The menu focuses on these common allergens: gluten/wheat, milk, peanut, tree nut, and fish. More information can be found in this Disney Parks Blog
article.
I understand the difficulty in finding dining options that are safe, yet delicious. I love Disney's approach to food allergies: Rather than telling Guests the dishes they need to avoid, the new allergy-friendly menus let them know all the items they CAN have. Here is a sample of the
allergy-friendly menu.
When making dining reservations, be sure to indicate your gluten allergy. At table service restaurants, we were always approached by either the manager or the chef to discuss our special dietary needs. They were able to make recommendations or substitutions to the menu.
I hope you'll find this information helpful and reassuring as you plan your upcoming trip to the Disneyland Resort.
Have a magical day,
Kiki
