There are several food allergies that we need to accommodate during our February Disney trip, do you have any advice on how to ensure that we are able to have wonderful dining experiences?

    Hi there Jennifer!

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for sending over your question today! I see that your trip is coming pretty soon, you must be so excited! I know I would be, especially since you picked a great time to visit with The World's Most Magical Celebration in full swing. I also see you are a fellow Canadian, you must be so excited to leave the Canadian cold for the warm Florida weather. I know that's always one of my favourite parts of a Disney vacation!

As a big foodie myself, I understand why you would want to try as many treats as you can while also respecting your dietary restrictions. Since Disney takes food safety incredibly seriously, here are a few things you can do to have the absolute best culinary experience on your upcoming trip. First, if you are in the parks and looking for something to eat at a quick-service location, I would recommend either downloading the My Disney Experience mobile app and making a Mobile Food Order or asking a Cast Member if they have an allergy menu. Most quick-service locations have extensive options that accommodate different allergies, but those options are not always visible on the main menu that is displayed. If you download the mobile app, you will be able to see all the options that each location has organized by allergy groups. For example, Gasparilla Island Grill at the Grand Floridian has an extensive allergy-friendly menu and you can always talk to a Cast Member to find what would work best for you. Second, I would recommend making reservations at table-service restaurants as you can disclose any intolerances or allergies you have online at the time of booking your reservation. Once you get to the restaurant, you should also inform your server that you have allergies and you will be able to talk directly to the chef about your needs. That way, you can give them more specific information about your allergies and the chef will be able to discuss options available to you. The chefs at Disney are so accommodating and welcoming so feel free to ask to discuss your dietary restrictions with them. Lastly, if you have any questions leading up to your trip, you can also get in contact with a Cast Member about special dietary requests via email. It is recommended that you contact them after booking your dining reservations and no more than 14 days before your visit so that they can best assist you.

I hope this was helpful, Jennifer, and that you can get back to planning your magical visit as soon as possible. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out! Helping guests like you is always a real treat.

Have a magical day and bon appétit,
