Hi. I have several dining reservations made during our our upcoming trip. What happens if I get my Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group assigned during the same time as a Dining Reservation? Do I have to pay the fee for missing the dining? Thanks.

    Bright Suns Kelli!

Welcome Back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I see you're planning a trip to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

I’m glad to see that you’re planning to get a Boarding Pass for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. It is the only way to board the attraction. You’ll join the Resistance for a climactic battle against the First Order and experience nothing like ever before. When your Boarding Group is called, you'll have two hours to get to the attraction and scan in. There are very few restaurants that would take two or more hours to dine at and to be on the safe side, I would avoid those. I would NOT make a dining reservation for a character meal or signature meal like Steakhouse 55 or Napa Rose on the day you are planning to ride the attraction. I think that if you stick with restaurants inside the parks, you’ll be fine. Now as far as being late, I have been late to dining reservations on several occasions because of a ride malfunction that is out of anyone's control. I was once stuck on Radiator Springs Racers for 45 minutes and we were 30 minutes late to our dining reservation at Carnation Cafe. Cast Members have always been understanding because these things do happen. With how much excitement and how successful Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has been, I think you’ll be OK if you are late to a dining reservation but ultimately it is up to the Cast Members at the restaurant.

If you really want to be on the safe side of things, then I wouldn’t make any dining reservations and rely on quick service dining for the day. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is so amazing, that no dining reservation is worth not getting on the attraction. There are so many wonderful food options that don’t need a reservation. If you haven’t used Mobile Order yet, it might be a good time to give it a try. You just order your food on the Disneyland Mobile App and pick it up when you're ready. Some of my favorite quick service dining locations are Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo, Bengal Barbecue, Flo’s V8 CafeJolly Holiday Bakery, and the Plaza Inn. You’re sure to find something for everyone.

Well Kelli, I hope that you are able to secure a Boarding Pass and that your trip to Planet Batuu is out of this world.

    ‘Til the Spire,

    Andres
