I have several dining reservations already but not for every meal, every day. Do I need to have every meal planned or can we "go with the flow" for a few days as well? We have a dining plan. Thank you in advance. Love this panel!!

    Hi Megan!

I've got a secret to share...I'm a "go with the flow" kind of guy when it comes to dining. My friends think I'm a Type-A super planner, so let's just keep that between us!

There's one slight problem with my "go with the flow" preference when it comes to dining at Walt Disney World - it's become hard to do these past few years with the increased popularity of the dining plans. That being said, the Type-A super planner in me kicks in and I book our dining reservations well in advance of our arrival.

If we decide we want to change our plans on the fly, I'll check to see if there are any cancellations at the restaurant we'd like to dine at - either the day of, or the day before we want to dine there. You can do that at any guest relations location, the restaurant itself, or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.

But wait, there's more! (Can you tell that I just saw a string of impulse-buy commercials?)

With the new "My Disney Experience" portal on either DisneyWorld.com or the app available for your smartphone, you can also make and edit dining reservations with the click of a button or a tap of the finger!

So, my advice would be to nail down your reservations now because it's easier to make those plans when you have some time to ponder your schedule. Plus, you can make sure you'll be dining at a time of the day that's most convenient for you.

By the way, be careful because some locations (e.g. character dining experiences and dinner shows) may have a fee associated with canceling your reservation with less than a full day's notice.  Check your confirmations to see if any special conditions apply.

I hope that helps and I hope you have some awesome dining experiences!

P.S. - Feel free to drop me a line if you need help choosing additional restaurants. The food at Walt Disney World is one of the main reasons I keep coming back so often!
