We are setting sail on the Disney Magic for Alaska in May 2026. Our Navigator App has Pirates night as a special theme night, but I have read that Alaska sailings have Frozen night. Should I expect the Frozen night or the Pirates night?

Ahoy, Rylea, and welcome to planDisney! There's nothing quite as enchanting as a Disney Cruise to Alaska. From wondrous glaciers and majestic fjords to remarkable wildlife and unforgettable port adventures, Alaska’s natural beauty pairs perfectly with the activities, entertainment, themed dining, and distinctly Disney fun you’ll enjoy aboard the ship. Let’s make sure you’re ready to set sail in May!

Rylea, your Disney Cruise Line Navigator App will update once you board the ship and connect to the onboard Wi-Fi – at that point, you will see the schedules and activities specific to your cruise. It's possible that the Explore section of your app currently shows details for a typical cruise aboard the Disney Magic when it is not in Alaska. Throughout the year, this ship may sail to other destinations, including The Bahamas, the Caribbean, Mexico, and more.

If there is a themed night during your Alaska sailing, it would likely be centered around Frozen, as opposed to pirates. A friend of mine had an amazing time on a 7-night Alaskan cruise aboard the Disney Wonder last summer. There was a Frozen-themed night with a Frozen Deck Party, a special dinner menu, music of Arendelle playing throughout the halls, and more. You might want to check back as your cruise gets a little closer to see if additional details on the itinerary become available.

Back to the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App – this is such a helpful tool during any cruise. In addition to finding schedules and activity information, you can use it to send messages to others in your party, see where Disney Characters are throughout the ship, get rotational dining details, learn where to find shops and lounges, and more. I use it so much while on the ship!

Are you getting so excited for your time aboard the Disney Magic? If you like Rapunzel, you're in for a treat, because one of the Rotational Dining locations, as well as a Broadway-style musical on board, celebrates our favorite princess with the magic hair. There are some uniquely themed nightclub and lounge areas, too, like O’Gills Pub and Keys. I like stopping at Cove Café for a latte topped with a Character design!

Rylea, the countdown is on for your magical Alaskan adventure. If you think of any other questions between now and embarkation day, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!

    Bon voyage!
