Setting sail aboard Disney Fantasy Dec 6, 2014...any thoughts as to what we should expect for weather? Will it be warm enough to swim on the ship, and also at Castaway Cay?

    Ahoy Doreen!
December is a very magical time to set sail because the Disney Fantasy will be decked out with twinkling lights, gorgeous greenery, beautiful bows, a life size gingerbread house, and a stunning 20 ft tall tree! Castaway Cay will also have a sprinkling of holiday pixie dust which will give you some very special cruise photos from your vacation.
The closest I've sailed to early December was mid-November, and we experienced mostly warm temperatures.  I did pack a few sweatshirts, light sweaters, and jackets for the ship which we did use.  Average temperatures in the Caribbean and the Bahamas average in the upper 70s to low 80s for the highs and lows in the upper 60s to low 70s so I think you will find it to be quite pleasant.  The water on the ship and on Castaway Cay will be refreshing! And you will be happy to know that if the outside temperature drops below 75 degrees, the pool water is heated.  The public lounges, theaters and restaurants can all be cool so you may want to keep that in mind when planning for your nightly attire.
I hope my answer is helpful, Doreen!  Please write back if you think of any additional questions before your holiday sailing next December!
    Have a magical day!
