When I set up my son's DAS activities, will we be able to select "fancy rides"...ie those rides that generally require purchase for in individual LL entrance? Or do we just use the virtual line system to do this? I'm really confused.

Hello and welcome back to planDisney, Michelle!

Thank you kindly for reaching out to me here at planDisney, it would be my great honor to offer my first-hand advice with the Disability Access Service (DAS) as a primary caregiver for my cognitively disabled adult son.

Michelle, it sounds as if you have a solid grasp of how registration for the DAS Advance works, and I would like to offer that during your consultation with a Cast Member, you will be able to book up to 2 one-hour DAS return windows for select experiences that accommodate the DAS. Now here’s the good part, Michelle, with the DAS Advance you can hold those 2 one-hour return windows in addition to the DAS return times you can request, one at a time throughout your theme park day.

Please look at the current, select attractions that accommodate the DAS and then you can compare those to the current select attractions that offer a Lightning Lane entrance through the Disney Genie+ service (kindly expand each list beneath each theme park), and you will find that some overlap (subject to change).

Individual Lighting Lane entrances are à la carte options and are narrowed down to two Lightning Lane entry selections that are not offered through the Disney Genie+ service. The Individual Lightning Lane attractions (please expand the list beneath each theme park in the link) are the most highly sought-after attractions (the fancy ones) currently. You may purchase up to 2 experiences per day, one at a time. These experiences are not offered on the Disney Genie+ service list, nor do I see them on the list of select attractions that accommodate the DAS (subject to change).

Michelle, you will be able to use your DAS accommodation on its own, as well as the Disney Genie+ service for purchase, and/or the Individual Lightning Lane if you wish. As well, you are welcome to join the traditional standby queue and periodically, a virtual queue (when a standby queue is not available), which you can access using the My Disney Experience App.

I hope this information serves you well. In my opinion, the DAS accommodation, plus the Disney Genie+ service, enables us to experience much more in a more efficient manner, which really helps me out with my son in the long run. If you have more questions, please do not hesitate to pop over and ask me, I want to make sure you have the best experience possible, Michelle.

You’ve got a friend in me!
