Hey David!
Welcome again to planDisney! It looks like you are preparing for a wonderful time for yourself and your family!
Since your son and friends are over the age of 13 they can create their own
My Disney Experience account. I recommend you do that to make this next part easier. Now, determine what technology your 17-year-old son and his girlfriend have access to. If they have a smartphone you can set up
MagicMobile on their device. This will allow them to enter the Parks and check into
Lightning Lane entrances. If you are staying at a
Walt Disney World Resort hotel you can set it up so that charges they make can be applied to your room. You can also do this with a
MagicBand. Now, this can be interesting as there isn't a way to limit these purchases but you can monitor this by checking out your Resort bill. If you want the purchases to be on a separate card from maybe one that you use or one with a limit then you can set that up with a Cast Member at the Resort Front Desk. The kids can buy all the snacks their hearts and stomachs desire.
If you are not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort or would like another option, I would suggest you give each child a
Disney Gift Card and let them run free. You can check balances online and the card can be reloaded at any Disney retailer that sells gift cards! Essentially that means most retail shops in the Parks or at your Resort hotel! This is a great option as
Mobile Order will not retain payment information for anyone under the age of 18 which means they have to submit payment information each time. They can do that with a gift card very easily as there is a way to scan the barcode of the gift card for faster payment.
I would also link them to your
Family & Friends list so that you can make plans together and assist them with activities such as purchasing
Genie+. I know you want them to have their own time but consider enjoying a Table Service Restaurant together and catching up on the day's excitement. I suggest
Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lounge for some good ol' fun and a hearty meal. Don't forget to ask for extra ketchup!
I hope this helps and if you have any more questions please
reach out as I will be glad to be of service!
