Is there a service that will help you map out your days activities in an efficient "itinerary" if you provide a list of what you'd like to do in a given day? A friend of mine said they used such a service but couldn't remember the name of it. A

    Hi Karen,

Thanks for your question. My guess is that your friend may have used the independent website touringplans.com. The site, which requires a small fee for the service, offers a number of sample itineraries for each park that can be customized. The site also predicts crowd sizes at each of the parks on specific days.

Having a general itinerary is a great idea so that you can be sure you see and do the top things on your Must List. One caution I always offer, however: Be careful not to over schedule. If you try to stick to a plan too rigidly, you may be more stressed than relaxed and might not get full enjoyment out of the activities as you do them.

I prefer to have a list of the top 5 attractions or activities my family wants to do each day. By limiting each day's "musts" to a few items, we don't feel rushed and we leave time to stop and see an unexpected show or enjoy an attraction we hadn't thought of.

Disney's free vacation planning DVD is a good starting point in building an itinerary or a Must List. It offers an overview of all the fun and you can use it to help narrow down your top choices. You can order the DVD from the My Disney Experience link on the Walt Disney World home page

You also can create customized maps on the Disney site that will be mailed to your family in advance of your trip or printed at home. They are a great, visual way to highlight the things you absolutely don't want to miss.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if I can do anything else as you plan your vacation. Enjoy!
