Welcome to planDisney, Jamie!
I'm so glad you decided to stop by planDisney with a question that combines two of my very favorite topics: The Most Magical Place on Earth and four-legged family members! So, why don't you
sit and stay a while so we can
dig into the details of a
Disney Resort Hotel stay with a service dog!
Because there's no need to register a
certified service dog in advance, your Disney Resort Hotel is unable to guarantee that there will be a Pluto's Welcome Kit available at the time you check in. You are, however, more than welcome to stop by the Front Desk upon arrival and request one. If they are currently in stock, Cast Members will be happy to provide one for you! If having a welcome kit is important to you, I suggest
calling and having the request for your service dog noted on the reservation. This is also a great time to make a specific room location request if there is a building or area you think might be more convenient for animal relief. While requests are not always able to be accommodated, it never hurts to ask, and in my experience, Cast Members do their very best to make each Guest's hotel stay as comfortable as possible.
Don't forget that per Walt Disney World Resort policy, your dog must be under the control of the owner and leashed or harnessed at all times, but as long as you abide by this policy, your service animal is more than welcome to join you on Walt Disney World's complimentary transportation options, as well as
select attractions. Oh, and while not required, I would suggest traveling with your dog's certification paperwork just in case!
I hope this helps, Jamie, and that your time at Walt Disney World Resort is
paws-itively magical. If you'd like any additional tips for a
doggone good visit, you're
barking up the right tree, so feel free to come see us again at
planDisney!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
