    Do servers tip share at character buffets? Paying 18/20 % for clearing tables/bringing drinks is asking a little much. This easily adds an additional 100. per day for 3 people. my kids are in the service industry and i do not want to stiff anyone thanks

    Hi Cindy!  Tipping is always a question when on vacation. Who gets a tip and how much should it be? Buffet dining adds more to those questions but at Disney it is pretty clear. In a few situations you will be charged 18% gratuity if you are a party of six or more, if you are dining at a prepaid restaurant or dinner show such as Hoop Dee Doo or Cinderella's Royal Table, or if you are using your Tables in Wonderland discount.

    Buffet dining you will have service from one or two cast members who will actually work very hard for you to make your dining exceptional. There is a lot of cleaning and running done by them even though they have not taken your food orders.  Tipping is up to you but I would still consider an 18-20% tip. Yes it adds to your vacation cost but these people are there for you and trying to make your stay and dining as magical as possible. Exceptional service deserves to be rewarded. If service is not up to par then a tip can be lower.
