We're serious WDW rope-droppers planning our FIRST Disneyland trip! Which attractions in each DLR park should we plan to hit first to maximize our day? (I understand Genie+ will be a big help out west.) Any park breakfast must-dos? Thank you again!

Hey Howdy Hey, Amy! Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks so much for sending us another great question.

I bet you're so excited about your first Disneyland Resort vacation! It's truly so special to walk down Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland Park, knowing that Walt Disney once walked there too! When visiting Disneyland Park, I would suggest starting in Fantasyland at Peter Pan's Flight and then continuing to enjoy other attractions in Fantasyland that are unique to Disneyland. My personal favorites are Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Storybook Land Canal Boats, and Snow White's Enchanted Wish. At Disney California Adventure Park, I would suggest starting at Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! While the adrenaline is still pumping, head over to Pixar Pier and ride Incredicoaster! Cars Land offers many fun and unique attractions as well! I love all of them, but Radiator Springs Racers is definitely not-to-be-missed! Disney Genie+ Service is a great choice for your first visit and I recommend adding it to maximize your time in both theme parks! One thing you will find different from using Genie+ at the Disneyland Resort is you will make your first attraction selection after you have scanned to enter the theme park.

Our family loves visiting the Disneyland Resort to ride attractions that are different than those at the Walt Disney World Resort and I think you will find this to be a fun, new Disney experience! You will notice that many attractions have outdoor queues and I would suggest having some sunscreen handy for applying throughout your visit.

Let's talk about some great breakfast options for your visit. One of my favorite ways to start the day at Disneyland Park is to reserve Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at Plaza Inn! This delicious all-you-care-to-enjoy dining experience includes visiting with many favorite Disney characters! If you prefer a breakfast without characters, Carnation Cafe offers a great breakfast menu. I especially love dining on the outdoor patio to enjoy all of the sights and sounds of Main Street, U.S.A.

At Disney California Adventure Park, brunch at Lamplight Lounge is my absolute favorite! The views of Pixar Pier are so fun and the Indulgent French Toast is amazing! The brunch menu is only offered on the weekends and hopefully, that would align with your plans.

I hope this information helps with your planning! I'm so excited for you to visit The Happiest Place on Earth!

    Happy Planning!
