Ahoy there, Justin!
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your planning question. How exciting that you will be sailing soon and visiting
Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. We were just there last month, and I am still dreaming about it. The water is that crystal clear blue you see in postcards, the island is absolutely stunning, and the food was so fresh and delicious. And the cabanas? Truly breathtaking. It felt like our own little slice of paradise in the Bahamas.
Now let’s dive right into your question. You will be happy to know that golf carts are available for Guests with mobility concerns. I recommend letting
Guest Services know as early as possible. If you are sailing Concierge, be sure to connect with your Concierge team right away to share that you will need assistance getting to your cabana. There is a limited number of golf carts, and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
When we sailed on the
Disney Destiny recently, my mother-in-law needed assistance as well. We let our Concierge host know as soon as we met them on embarkation day. They were extremely accommodating and gave us a specific meeting time so everything ran smoothly with no waiting. It made the day so much more relaxing. I highly recommend making that request as early as you can.
It is also helpful to know that beach wheelchairs are available if needed, and that accessible pathways and ramps throughout Lookout Cay make getting around easier. If additional accommodations are needed, you can fill out the
Special Services form in advance. Be sure to submit it at least three days prior to embarkation. While specific requests cannot be guaranteed, in my experience,
Disney Cruise Line truly goes above and beyond to assist Guests and make everyone feel comfortable and cared for.
Justin, I hope this helps put your mind at ease so you can focus on enjoying the sunshine, the turquoise water, and that incredible cabana experience. If you have any additional questions as you prepare to set sail, feel free to cruise back and visit us again.
See you real soon,
Christina
