Hi, Mindy! Glad to hear you enjoyed the Wilderness Lodge. It really is quite beautiful!
Port Orleans French Quarter and
Port Orleans Riverside, both Moderate Resorts, are "sister properties" in that they are located next to each other, you can walk between the resorts, and if you stay at one, you may use the other resort's pool and food services. Both have boat service to Downtown Disney.
The biggest difference between the two is the size. POR is a sprawling resort with over 2,000 rooms, 6 swimming pools, and lovely grounds and walking paths. If you are staying in Alligator Bayou (my favorite part of the resort) it can be quite a walk to the food court and main pool. But, it is a relaxing, quiet resort that my family enjoys. POR also has Boatwrights Dining Hall, a table service restaurant with Cajun specialty dishes.
POR is much smaller with just over 1,000 rooms and much easier to get around. There is no table service restaurant, but you can eat at the Food Court or stroll down to Port Orleans Riverside to Boatwrights. The cobblestone streets are charming; You'll feel like you have stepped into New Orleans!
If you want the quietest room, I would reserve POR and ask for a room in Alligator Bayou (but be ready to walk!) For a convenient resort to get around easily, choose POFQ. Both are wonderful resorts and you will enjoy whichever you select! Have a great vacation.
