Hi James, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Your September Walt Disney World vacation will be here before you know it, and I love that you’re at the stage of planning those special moments for your time in The Most Magical Place on Earth.
The Kiss Goodnight is indeed a truly magical way to end a day in Magic Kingdom Park; I cry every time I see those twinkling lights on Cinderella Castle and hear the beautiful narrative. The park is so still and peaceful, and the magic in the air is palpable. It’s a special moment that many Guests don’t experience.
Because there is
Disney After Hours on September 20th, the Kiss Goodnight will not happen with the end of regular park hours at 9:00 p.m. because the park has not closed. The Kiss Goodnight usually happens 30 minutes after the park closes for the day, as the last Guests wander through Magic Kingdom Park on their way out, and then sometimes an hour after that, depending on the night.
My best advice for you is to check with a Cast Member when you enter the park that day. They should know the times for that day and might have advice for you since seeing this magical moment is important to you. You might also want to consider visiting Magic Kingdom Park on another night if your plans are flexible.
Another thing to know is that each park has its own
nighttime magic. From the twinkling fireflies in the Tree of Life Awakening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to the glittering sidewalks around Epcot’s Spaceship Earth to the gorgeous neon in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, each of the theme parks has its own beauty and energy at night. I hope you have a chance to experience the magic of each one on your upcoming vacation, James.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
