Howdy, Jeffrey! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
September is an absolutely wonderful time to visit, whether it's your first time or your 100th time! Crowds are generally a little lighter since most families have kids back in school and, if you are visiting mid-late September, you will get to experience
Halloween Time. You will notice fall and Halloween decor all through the parks and perhaps even some favorite characters decked out in their costumes. You can also purchase tickets to Mickey's Halloween Party for some extra special fun - including trick-or-treating around Disneyland Park! Plus, this year, Disney California Adventure Park will have lots of special Halloween touches like the Haul-o-Ween overlay of Cars Land and
Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. So there is definitely lots of fun and excitement to be had this month!
One thing to keep a close eye on as your travel dates approach is the weather. I distinctly remember visiting in mid-September when the temperatures were over 100 degrees! That trip called for lots of pool time to help beat the heat. But sometimes the weather can be quite pleasurable with highs in the 80s and morning lows in the 70s.
Keep in mind that in September some of the nighttime entertainment like fireworks and Fantasmic! only perform on weekends, but World of Color should continue nightly performances. Check the
entertainment schedule for your travel dates to help you plan.
I hope this helps! See ya real soon!
