Ahoy Corina!
Welcome to planDisney! How awesome is it that you are wanting to treat your friend to a surprise during their voyage? You win the best friend of the year award in my book!
So here are two ideas on how to make this gift a reality. First, you can send your pal a
Disney gift card in advance that they can use towards paying for the cruise itinerary itself. It can be either a physical card or an e-card (if so, you would need their email address). Then they could apply the funds towards payment for their sailing. Gift cards are available starting at $25 up to $500.
The other option would be to send them an Onboard Credit through the
Onboard Gifts portal. You would need to have the sail date and the legal first and last name of the Guest on the reservation. This credit could be used to cover anything that is charged to a stateroom account, including experiences like Port Adventures,
spa treatments, gratuities, and beverages. Once you order this, your friend will receive a card in their stateroom from you as well as a personalized message (so long as you make the arrangements at least 2 days before sailing).
Let me tell you that receiving a stateroom surprise on Embarkation Day is one of the very best presents EVER and it truly is the most pixie dusted way to start a cruise! Then they would be able to say, “Corina helped pay for my dinner at
Palo” or “She made my spa treatment possible.” It’s way more specific of a gift, so if you prefer that, I would go this route.
We would love it if you would GIFT us with more planning questions. I sincerely hope that your friend enjoys that Disney cruise all the more because of your sweet gesture!
