I have been sent a check for an amount in US$. As I am from the UK, and do not have a US$ bank account, do you know if I can sign the check over to Walt Disney World, while on vacation there this summer, and purchase Disney Gift Cards or Disney Dollars?

Unfortunately, you will not be able to sign the check over to Walt Disney World, as the resort is not setup to complete transactions of this nature.  I have family members who reside outside of the US and I commonly receive gifts from them in the form of checks. I have never had a problem depostiing the checks into my bank account, although the process does take longer than receiving domestically drawn funds, and the currency is, of course, converted to US dollars.

If you are unable to deposit the check into your own account in the UK, my recommendation would be to do some investigating to see if the issuing bank has a branch in the vicinity of Walt Disney World.  If so, you could take a taxi to the branch location where you would be able to cash the check in person with proper identification.

Wish I had better news for you, but hopefully you'll find this information helpful!  Please write back with any additional questions.
