My 6yo is sensitive to "scary" stuff. She loves thrill rides (aka coasters), but can get scared of villains etc. Which rides do you think she would enjoy and which should I avoid? I'm wondering about Snow White, Peter Pan, etc. Thanks!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Luciana. I understand your concerns regarding "scary" aspects of attractions. My son is extremely sensitive to loud noises, ever since he was an infant. Now that he is 9 years old, we've had lots of experiences with exploring dark, loud and scary attractions. (To be honest, my son was terrified of Disney Characters--even Mickey Mouse--until he was about 6 years old!)

There are a few attractions I would recommend for you and your daughter to tackle with caution, especially knowing her sensitivity level. We tend to steer clear from Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Haunted Mansion, Pinocchio's Daring Journey, Indiana Jones Adventure, Snow White's Scary Adventures, and Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Some parts of Pirates of the Caribbean were slightly frightening to my son as well.

Of course, this list is simply based on our family's experience and your daughter may react differently. I suggest checking out the Attractions page on the Disneyland Resort website with her prior to your upcoming trip. That way, instead of focusing on which attractions to avoid, you can empower her to choose the ones she'll find enjoyable.

I hope this information is helpful for you, Luciana. I wish you and your family a magical time on your upcoming trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. Please visit us on the Panel again if you have further questions.

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
