Does it make sense for kids to wear their own pirate costumes to the Pirates League, or should we buy one there? I'm concerned buying them at Disney will be expensive, but maybe it would be worth it to make the experience more memorable? Thanks!

    Hi Shannon,

I think The Pirates League is one of the cutest experiences I've seen and the kids eat it up!

The Pirates League has changed their packages. They now offer the First Mate package or the Empress package (geared towards girls). Both packages are $29.95 + tax. Packages include choice of facial effects, reversible bandana, earring & eye patch, sword & sheath, temporary tattoo, pirate coin necklace; personalized pirate oath, official pirate name, removable teeth and you get to participate in a pirate parade which is adorable! The Empress Package includes bold makeup, nail polish & face gem but teeth are not included.

Costumes & headwear are sold separately & available at the Pirates League location. Costume choices include Jack Sparrow, Capt. Hook, generic pirate & the girls' costume includes a pink & black dress w/ a skull & crossbones on the skirt (sizes & choices are subject to availability). The Cast Member I spoke w/ was unable to pull up the exact prices but thought they usually begin around $60.00.

If you feel that your kids would be really disappointed in not getting the costume there, then go for it. Honestly, if I were taking my boys, I'd save myself the money and take the costumes with us and have them change into them just before their Pirates League Reservation (there is a restroom nearby). The experience is so much fun, they will forget they didn't get new costumes and some kids don't wear a pirate costume at all.

Wishing you many magical pirate filled memories :-) Allison
