Hiya, Michael! Welcome back to planDisney!
Annual visits to
The Happiest Place on Earth sound simply magical! I love that you've experienced Disneyland in many phases of life and are ready to experience it anew. Like you, my parents took me on regular trips to Disneyland throughout my childhood. They now enjoy visiting just the two of them (and I try not to let it hurt my feelings!). Let's get you some fun ideas for your next trip!
Michael, my first suggestion would be to
make a dining reservation at one of the Resort's luxurious table service locations. Treat yourselves to a meal at
Carthay Circle in Disney
California
Adventure
Park or
Napa Rose at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Carthay Circle has an old Hollywood ambiance that can't be topped. And Napa Rose's California-inspired dishes and extensive wine list coupled with the Craftsmen-style architecture make for a memorable meal.
Another fun experience would be one of the
Disneyland Park Tours. These are a fantastic way to see Disneyland
Park through a new lens, learn new facts, and enjoy the park in a new way. Tours can be reserved through the Disneyland website.
Walt's Main Street Story Tour allows you to visit Walt's apartment above Main Street, U.S.A.! It is currently open for reservations. Another option is to snag a reservation for the
Disneyland Railroad Guided Tour. This tour allows Guests to climb aboard the Disneyland Railroad’s special Presidential Car, the Lilly Belle! Reservations haven't opened, yet, but the tour was recently added to the website, so they are coming soon!
Some of my favorite park days are when my family slows down and experiences the wonderful entertainment throughout the parks. We love the
Five & Dime band in Disney California Adventure Park and always stop for The Straw Hatters in Disneyland. The musicians are top-notch and we've been seeing some of the same performers for over 10 years!
Don't forget to catch
Animation Academy in the Animation Building in
Hollywood Land, where a Disney artist will guide you through sketching a Disney character. There is a new character lesson every 30 minutes, so each session is a completely new experience!
Michael, I hope this has given you ideas of what to do on your next visit! If you have any more questions or need more ideas, please come back and
ask me directly. I'd love to help you make the most of your visit!
See you in the parks,
Melissa
