    I am a senior citizen, I was wondering if adults can order off of the kids menu? I sometimes can't eat the large portions served off the adult menu. Love thiis forum. Great job.

    At counter service restaurants, I often order from the kid’s menu, even at Walt Disney World (WDW).

    For buffets and dinner shows, you'll pay the adult price. If you like an item on the kid’s section of the buffet, then help yourself. I’ll admit to grabbing cheese pizza for myself at The Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey‘s. I’m a picky eater so the kid’s offerings sometimes look appealing.

    While the kid’s menu states ages 3-9, the servers at WDW are very accommodating. I’ve seen teens and adults order from the kid’s menu at table service restaurants. I’ve only heard of a few times where someone was charged an adult price for a kid’s meal but in any event, this would be the worst case scenario. I met some of the Restaurant Managers and Chefs during the Moms Panel training. They all seemed more than willing to accommodate guest’s preferences (as well as allergies).

    Many adults at WDW (including myself) choose to order from the kid’s menu. You won’t be the first one to ask so don’t hesitate to order the food that you like.

    If you want the child portion, you will be charged the child price. You can also ask for an adult portion of the kid entrée, then you’ll be charged a bit more for your meal. It’s often about double the price. So if the kid’s hamburger, for example, sounds good to you then go ahead and order it. The server may suggest an adult portion of that meal but at least you’ll be eating something you enjoy and the cost will still be less than the typical adult entrée.

    If you aren’t that hungry or prefer the kid entrée, go ahead and order it. I have an adult friend that ordered chicken fingers at The Brown Derby in the Hollywood Studios.  

    Also don’t feel obligated to order a full meal. You can have an appetizer and/or salad. Not only can you share a dessert with another member of your party, you can also share an entrée.

    Dining at Walt Disney World is a time to relax with your family, visit with characters or enjoy the restaurant’s ambiance.
