Hi there Kendall,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for your question!
When it comes to trips to the Disneyland Resort, I'm often the one that gets to plan all the logistics - luckily, I love it! This includes buying all the
theme park tickets and then sharing them with members of my group to link to their
Disneyland Resort mobile app.
During the theme park ticket purchase process, it will ask you for a name to associate with each ticket that will then show up on the ticket when looking at it in the mobile app. However, this feature is mostly to help keep you organized and does not have any bearing on how the ticket can be used.
When you arrive at the parks and scan your ticket for the first time, a Cast Member at the entry gate will take a quick photo of each Guest that is then associated with their ticket. Since
tickets must be used by the same person for the duration of the ticket, it is this photo that Cast Members use to ensure that!
Therefore, if you're reassigning a previously purchased and wholly unused ticket to someone else in your party, but it doesn't have their name on it, they will still be totally fine to use it.
If you would like to get the name changed on the ticket in the Disneyland Resort mobile app, then you can
call a Cast Member at the Tickets line who can help with that.
I hope that helps, Kendall! Thanks so much for your question and have a fantastic trip to the Happiest Place on Earth.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
