Howdy Mark!
I'm happy to read that you are staying at my favorite Walt Disney World Resort! A stay in a cabin or a campsite is such a unique way to experience the magic of Disney. I am heading home from a weekend of camping at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground as I answer your question!
You will find pretty much anything you need at one of the two trading posts at Fort Wilderness. The Meadow Trading Post has a larger selection of items, but you'll find charcoal and lighter fluid at either Meadow or Settlement Trading Post.
None of the campsites or cabin sites at Fort Wilderness have their own fire pits nor are they sold on property. Disney has very strict rules about bringing your own fire pit as it has to be completely metal, 100% enclosed and have a solid top. Fort Wilderness also does not sell firewood. You can find them at Walmart or Amazon for purchase. A quick Google search will show you what the approved fire pits look like.
An alternative to having your own fire pit is to head over to
Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-a-Long, which is a nightly activity. Two fires blaze after dark and you can roast marshmallows while listening to some campfire favorite songs while meeting and greeting with the feisty chipmunk duo. Purchase s'mores kits from the Chuckwagon Snack Bar or bring your own.
Enjoy your visit to the wilderness!
