Hi Katie,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question!
Through the magic of
Disney Genie service, a complimentary service in the
My Disney Experience mobile app, you are able to enter the desired attractions and entertainment you want to visit over the course of your trip. From there, the Genie will work his magic and come up with recommendations and a personalized itinerary for you inclusive of food options and rides that are tailored to what you want to do. To find Genie, just sign in to your My Disney Experience mobile app, tap the three lines in the lower right-hand corner, then click on the box titled “My Genie Day”. Under “My Day”, tap “Get Started Now”, from there you are able to add your interests in 3 easy steps to unleash the Genie!
Now there is another option when it comes to planning for your rides at the
Walt Disney World Resort, that option is the
Genie+ Service. Unlike Genie, Genie+ is a paid service where you can pay a price per ticket, per day to hold your place in line for a certain time. There are two ways to access Genie+. First, if you already have
Walt Disney World Resort Tickets, you can upgrade your tickets to include Genie+ for the duration of your stay. Again, select the three lines in the lower right-hand corner, click “Tickets and Passes”, choose your park ticket, then select “Change Ticket” to add the Genie+ option.
If you’d only like to make Genie+ reservations for a specific day of your trip, no worries, you will just do this on that specific day. You can purchase the Genie+ service as early as 12 a.m. on the day you’d like to purchase. Remember the Disney Genie Service screen we mentioned above? On the day you want Genie+, you’ll want to go back there and select “Get Disney Genie+ for Today” on the purple bar in the middle of the page. Just follow the prompts to get the Genie+ Service activated for all the guests in your trip.
The Genie+ Service opens up the opportunity for Lightning Lane where you can bypass the standby line for select attractions. At 7 a.m. on the day you book Genie+, you will be able to select your first Lightning Lane attraction and once you use that Lightning Lane, you’ll immediately be able to book another! Keep in mind
Lightning Lane is only for certain attractions, but there’s more than enough to keep the fun going. If you have questions about Genie or Genie+ during your visit, make sure to talk to a Cast Member with the
Guest Experience Team. They are extremely knowledgeable and can be found throughout the Theme Parks. Just look for a blue umbrella!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare for your upcoming trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. In the meantime, please reach out if you have any other
planning or vacation questions, I am always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
Bryanna
