If I select a lightning lane reservation for 1:30 in the afternoon, does that prevent me from using lightning lane for other experiences earlier in the day?

    Hey Michael!

Welcome to planDisney! What a great question! I love using Genie+ in Walt Disney World to make my day in the Parks much more streamlined and efficient. I do hope I can help you have an easy time with Genie+.

The great thing about booking Lightning Lanes is that no matter what time you book one Lightning Lane, you can book another shortly after. The way it works is that you must book your first Lightning Lane right at 7 AM. Grab one for whatever period you like and whatever ride you wish to enjoy. My suggestion is to secure a Lightning Lane for a ride that tends to have a very long regular queue and may run out earlier in the day. Examples of such high-demand rides at Magic Kingdom Park are Peter Pan's Flight, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and oddly enough the character meet-ups such as Meet Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater.

After you make that first Lightning Lane selection at 7 AM you can make your second one 2 hours after the Theme Park you have a Theme Park Reservation opens. Now, if the last Lightning Lane reservation you made is used because you "tapped" into the ride, canceled it or it expired then you can book another one. You can also book another one if two hours have passed since you made your last Lightning Lane reservation. If this sounds confusing, know that your My Disney Experience Mobile App will tell you right on top when you can book your next Lightning Lane. I highly recommend you set an alarm on your phone so you don't forget to book another one right on the dot. You may find at some point during the day you could have multiple Lightning Lanes ready to be used.

One of my favorite things is to "stack" the Lightning Lanes in the afternoon which can be a very busy time and spend the early morning enjoying the lower wait times on the regular queue.

I hope this helps! Happy Planning!
