Hi Melissa! First of all I can guarantee that you would love the
Fort Wilderness Resort as the campgrounds are some of the best in the country. Everything is kept clean and the sites are large offering privacy and shade with the many trees that are everywhere. Some loops are long and others are short. Some are more open while others have an abundance of the trees. There are pet loops, loops with full concrete pads, tent loops, and loops that offer partial concrete and sand pads. The choices are abundant and it is often heard that it is fun to let Disney assign you a loop as guests find new "favorites" each year.
The
Fort Wilderness Backtrail Adventure is the only Segway tour left anywhere on property. It was always our favorite though as you see wildlife, can go off road, and see sights that many other guests never see. At various times you will have the chance to go through one or more of the loops where you can see a typical RV setup. If you have a little extra time definitely come early or stay late to check out the Trading Posts, a comfort station, the pool, and other recreation possibilities.
Learning to drive a Segway was a little intimidating to me at first but it didn't take longer then five minutes before I was hooked and wanting one of my own. They will definitely make several stops along the way to either take pictures or visit a sight. They usually have time for you to stop at the stables and see the magnificent Disney horses and exhibit. They will have water for you and at the end of the tour you will have earned a great Segway pin to take home and brag about your new skill.
