Bright Suns, Keith! Welcome to planDisney; I'm so glad you stopped by with your question about celebrating Star Wars Day on "May the Fourth" at the Walt Disney World Resort! I can tell the force is strong with you, and guide you, I can!
While anxious Jedis would love an announcement of an after-hours celebration in Batuu at
Disney's Hollywood Studios, at this time there has been no such intergalactic bulletin. So while we wait for further correspondence from a galaxy far, far away, let's uncover some ways you might be able to create your own magic throughout the resort on this special day!
Last year, the Disney Parks Blog published
10 Ways to Celebrate Star Wars on May 4, including ideas for unique merchandise, PhotoPass opportunities, and delicious treats that were available to honor the Star Wars legacy.
The Disney Eats Foodie Guide was also published to share out-of-this-world snacks available to Jedis during this celebration! (Sign me up for the Lightsaber Churros!) While the offerings are subject to change in 2024, this should give you an idea of what you might expect to see available when you visit the parks!
Of course, no destination in Walt Disney World is more fitting to celebrate May the Fourth than
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Hollywood Studios! Be sure to take some time to experience each of the Star Wars-themed attractions - Star Tours - The Adventures Continue; Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance; and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. You might also consider booking an experience to build your own droid at
Droid Depot or a lightsaber at
Savi's Workshop. I imagine the glow of lightsabers on this particular night will be absolutely breathtaking after the sun sets! And don't forget about
Oga's Cantina, where you can enjoy out-of-this-world libations to quench your thirst for adventure!
Keith, I'd definitely recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog in the coming months for announcements and reveals about details, events, and special treats that will be available to celebrate Star Wars Day! Remember
planDisney is also another great resource, so come back to us anytime if we can help again!
May the Force Be With You,
Alison
