Hi David! Thanks for reaching out to us again at planDisney.
Oh, character autographs. Such a memorable way to commemorate meeting your favorite characters! I can't really explain why, but I'm a little shy when it comes to meeting the characters, even though they are all so approachable and always make me feel comfortable in the end. But having an autograph book gives me a way to engage with them and breaks the tension that is
only in my head! No matter what, an autograph book can be one of the most cherished souvenirs from a trip to the
Walt Disney World Resort.
While at this time the
Disney Store doesn't appear to have an autograph book online, they
do pop up on the site from time to time. But don't let that fool you, there should be plenty of places at the resort that have an autograph book for you to purchase. In fact, the Disney Stores in each terminal of the Orlando International Airport probably have one in stock. Also, the shop at your
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel likely has at least one option. In these stores, look for them by the stationery or by the checkout. You can also ask a friendly Cast Member when you're there. The main merchandise shops at each theme park, like the
Emporium at
Magic Kingdom Park or the
Creations Shop in
EPCOT will also likely have options for you. And the giant magical store known as the
World of Disney in
Disney Springs will also likely have something available for you! While stock cannot be guaranteed, Disney knows Guests like to get autographs and they usually make it a point to have them available! At the very least, there will be some beautiful stationery for you to use.
So just in case you're an introvert like me, I've got a tip to help make the most of your character interactions at the parks. Simply pick one thing from the character's movie and ask them a question. It doesn't have to be deep or thought-provoking. It could simply be asking
Snow White where the dwarfs are that day. Or asking
Aladdin how Abu has been doing. Or, if you don't know anything about the character's story, just ask how their day is going. The bottom line? Don't be like me who overthinks it. And if all else fails, just ask them for their autograph. They get it. They meet many different people with different types of personalities. No matter what, they will make you feel comfortable, seen, and welcome.
That's the magic of Disney.
David, if you see my girl, Ariel, tell her I said hello. Will she know who I am? I can pretend she will...and she might too! Currently, you can meet
Ariel from the live-action story and Ariel from the animated classic. So be sure to stop by both if available when you are there!
If you have any other questions,
don't hesitate to ask!
Something's starting right now,
Matt
