Hello Andrea! You are so kind to think of and advocate on behalf of your brother! The Walt Disney World Resort prides itself on
accommodating the needs of Guests requiring special assistance. This includes Guests with Autism. After all, a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth is meant to be a vacation for the whole family to enjoy together!
The splash zones located at Disney Resort Hotel pools are typically posted with specific age requirements. I have noticed that lifeguards and resort staff on duty enforce the rules differently depending upon the crowd gathered at the splash zone. If the area is crowded, the guard on duty will typically enforce the age restrictions. If the area isn't too crowded, I've noticed less stringent enforcement.
Andrea, your situation is unique. Here is what I suggest. I recommend you call
Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or e-mail them at disability.services@disneyparks.com. They should be able to provide you with further information about use of the splash zones at the resort pools. Because you specifically referenced services at Disney Resort Hotels, I've embedded that link
right here for you to access at your convenience.
As you prepare for your travel, also note that each of the four Disney Parks -
Magic Kingdom Park,
EPCOT,
Disney's Animal Kingdom, and
Disney's Hollywood Studios have special guides available for Guests with Disabilities.
Andrea, I hope the information provided is helpful as you continue to prepare for your vacation! Please visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel again if we can be of further assistance.
