I have never seen Fantasmic and I'd like to not miss it this time in Disney, but is it appropriate for my 3yr (turning 4 during our trip!) old?

    Hi Amanda!

Fantasmic! is one of my favorite shows at Walt Disney World and it is definitely a must see every time I visit! There are parts of Fantasmic! that can be a little loud and frightening, especially where the villains are involved, so I suggest to be cautious when taking younger children to see this show.  It will really depend on the child as to their reaction, but I've had a fifty/fifty mix with my children and in some cases had to leave the show a little early.

I have found the best way to get through a scary part of the show, is to use a distraction technique.  A small little flashlight is a wondrous tool at the art of distraction, I have even seen flashlights with a silhouette of Tinkerbell over the lens that work great!  If it looks like it is getting to intense, it might be a good time to pull that out and let your little one watch Tinkerbell.  Upon entering I would also make sure to take note of the exits, just in case you wind up needing to leave early.  When some of my children were afraid, talking about the action they were seeing was a way to calm their fears.  I always compare it to a Disney movie and the fact that the bad guys never win.

I hope your little one has a very Happy Birthday and please visit us again if you have anymore questions!

    Best Wishes!
