I've seen conflicting information regarding shipping home lightsabers from Savi's workshop. Is that still an option in Disneyland? We are flying, so not sure if it can be taken on the plane. Thanks!

    Hi Tina,

We're so happy you made it to our corner of the magic here at planDisney. We love helping Guests personalize the pixie dust in their Disneyland Resort vacations ... and that includes everything from where to get the best hug from Mickey down to logistics on how to get those handbuilt lightsabers home! Hop aboard this starship, Tina! Let's take a spin through the galaxy to get you an answer to your question.

As a Mom who has hand-carried a lightsaber all the way back to Philly, you came to the right place! As part of your experience at Savi's Workshop, your builder will receive a carrying case for that newly constructed lightsaber. This not only helps protect it when it's taking a break from wielding the force but also in its travel between planets. In my experience, we hand-carried the lightsaber onto the plane as a carry-on and stored it in the overhead bin during the flight. Of course, airline rules and regulations can differ, so I highly recommend checking with your airline directly ahead of time to see if this is an option for you.

Luckily, it is not the only option! You can make plans to ship your lightsaber back to your home planet as well. When you check in at Savi's, I recommend asking the Cast Member about shipping options to get the most up-to-date information. In my experience, Guests can head to First Order Cargo in Black Spire Outpost with their merchandise and the original receipt when they are ready to pack up the lightsaber and send it on its way. You don't have to do this immediately after leaving Savi's, you can have some time to wield that lightsaber in the parks before heading to First Order Cargo. I recommend grabbing a few photos in and around Batuu to make those memories last forever, especially at night!

If you are visiting on an evening when the Disneyland fireworks are scheduled, you may want to make your way to Galaxy's Edge to experience Fire of the Rising Moons. Become one with the villagers of Batuu and celebrate the heroes and legends of the galaxy in this unique show filled with storytelling and the sweeping music you know and love from the Star Wars saga. I can't wait to experience this myself on our next visit!

Tina, I know you are in for some out-of-this-world memory-making! If you have any more questions in your journey to Galaxy's Edge, don't hesitate to send them our way. We are always here for you at planDisney.

May the force be with you!
