Danielle, you must be so excited... there are only a few short weeks until your trip! I love traveling to Walt Disney World in February- there are fewer crowds and delightfully milder weather!
Thank you for bringing us your question regarding Rider Switch, and I'm sorry you've been given conflicting information. When my boys were younger, Rider Switch was extremely useful for us because I wait off to the side in the shade with my toddler while my husband took the older boys through the regular line on Space Mountain. But the thrill seeker in me appreciated the fact that I could go back later for my journey through the cosmos with my big kiddos without having to wait in the Standby queue again.
Last year, Walt Disney World transitioned from paper Rider Switch passes to a digital system using your MagicBand, but the process is still the same. When you arrive at the attraction, check in with the Cast Member with your entire family. Let them know who will be waiting with the non-riding child. This adult will then have the Rider Switch pass added to their My Disney Experience account, and it will allow them to ride the attraction with up to two other Guests at a later time without having to wait in the Standby queue a second time. The old paper passes did not have a return time on them; however, the digital Rider Switch has an hour and ten minute return time window (this will appear in your My Disney Experience app). Check out the
Rider Switch information page on the Walt Disney World website for a full list of attractions that participate at all four theme parks. I have not tried this system using FastPass+, so if you have questions, try calling Guest Services at (407)939-5277.
Danielle, I know you'll have a blast using all those FastPass+ selections...it will be here before you know it!
