I have seen conflicting answers. We are thinking of taking cabs to a couple of the ADR's that we have at other resorts. I have a DD 22 mons. Will she need to have a car seat? Thanks!

    Hello Sara,

Just as it is in many other states, Florida taxi passengers are exempt from laws regarding car seats. When she was younger, my daughter was always in a car seat or booster seat. But when we traveled and used a taxi, she would sit in my lap.

Now, keep in mind, yes, your daughter will be safest in a car seat. And cab and town car drivers encourage parents to bring their own car seats - which families must install themselves. I
f you call ahead, many cab companies have car seats available upon request. But no, you do not need a car seat when in a cab.

Just know it's a totally different ballgame if you ever decide to rent a car. Florida law requires all kids under the age of 5 to be properly restrained.

Hope this helps clear things up!
