Hi Shannon! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
I understand wanting to nab that coveted
Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park dining reservation. It's one of our favorites too. It's iconic! You can't beat the immersive experience of dining in perpetual twilight while boats drift by. It's romantic and celebratory. My favorite thing to order is the famous Monte Cristo.
Now, while
dining reservations typically open up 60 days out, that's not always the case, and I've noticed Blue Bayou Restaurant is sometimes slower to open up availability. Keep checking! Diligence can pay off. I'd set a reminder on my mobile device to check every day. As a last resort, if you find Blue Bayou Restaurant is open while you're visiting and you haven't yet grabbed a reservation, you can try to join the
Walk-Up List. Pull up the map on the
Disneyland mobile app and switch from "Attractions" at the top to "Dining." Locate Blue Bayou Restaurant on the map, click the knife and fork icon, and click "Join Walk-Up List."
If you're looking for Cajun-Creole cuisine, another Table Service option in New Orleans Square is
Cafe Orleans. They've also got a Battered & Fried Monte Cristo Sandwich on their menu at the moment, which I'd go for. Or, over in the Downtown Disney District, you can check out
Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio with the to-die-for Double Chocolate Bread Pudding.
For a quick bite, try the brand-new
Tiana's Palace in New Orleans Square. The theming is perfection! I hear good things about the Buttermilk Cornbread, so don't skip the carbs. Finally, if you want a sweet New Orleans-inspired treat, grab some fresh Mickey beignets from the
Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square. They're a great anytime treat, but we also enjoy them at breakfast. Just bring the wipes for all the powdered sugar fingers afterward.
Have a magical time!
Elizabeth
