There are no silly questions; in fact, this is an excellent one! As soon as I saw it, I just had to answer it because I’ve always wanted to know how to change the Walt Disney Resort hotel TV greeting. I’d love to share what I’ve learned after doing some research.
The best way to ensure that the last name on the TV is changed is to modify the last name of the lead guest on your Resort hotel reservation. In order to do this, you’ll have to call the
Disney Hotel Reservations phone number. Keep in mind that you can easily change the names of other people in your party on your own via the “My Plans” section of your
My Disney Experience account. Only the lead guest is locked in and can only be modified by Disney.
I spoke to a Cast Member, a Disney employee, and they recommended speaking to the Front Desk as soon as you arrive to make the request. They may be able to change the posted TV greeting. You can also try calling the Resort hotel directly beforehand. There is no guarantee that this is possible at the time of your visit.
AN EXTRA GEM: While at the Front Desk, ask for a “First Visit” button to make the trip extra special for your daughter. Although wearing the button around property doesn’t promise any surprises, I’ve found that other guests and Cast Members love recognizing a new Mouseketeer. You can also find these buttons at various spots around property like gift shops and theme park
