It seems like most room reservations accommodate a family of four. We have 5 in our family. Do any hotels on Disney property accommodate a family of 5?

    Good morning JoAnn,

What a great question!  I bet there are thousands of families who are wondering the exact same thing.  Most of Walt Disney World's standard guest rooms accommodate only four individuals, unless the fifth is an infant sleeping in a pack & play.  My sister, Jayme, has a family of five, and I know she is always considering which Disney resort would be the best fit for her family.  Fortunately she has shared her findings with me.

The most luxurious accommodations for a family of five would include a one bedroom villa at Bay Lake Tower or Kidani Village at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.  These beautiful rooms include comfortable sleeping arrangements for five, a full kitchen, and private laundry facilities.  Guests at Bay Lake Tower can walk the short distance to the Magic Kingdom and those staying at Kidani Village can awaken to the view of animals on the savanna.  Wouldn't that be cool?

A number of Disney's deluxe resorts (Disney's Polynesian Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian, for instance) have a few rooms with a day bed that would make them appropriate for a family of five.

Less expensive, but still magical, accommodations include family suites at Disney's All-Star Music Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort (scheduled to open early summer 2012) or a standard room with a trundle bed in the Alligator Bayou section of Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.  Connecting rooms at Disney's value and moderate resorts are another cost effective option.

From these many choices, I'm sure your family will be able to choose Disney resort accommodations that will make your vacation truly magical.

    Sending pixie dust your way!
